The optical drive did show up as a UEFI boot device with Ubuntu-saucy-64-mini.  I don't know why it didn't recognize Vista64.  I was also able to get it to recognize Mint 16 on USB Flash in UEFI only mode.  The install appears to succeed and I can see the EFI boot partition.

On first boot after what appears to be a successful install, I get "A bootable device has not been detected", and the SSD is not listed as a bootable device in the visual BIOS.
