I have a brand new Lenovo Ideapad Y510P, and ever since updating to Windows 8.1 (which was a terrible mistake due to the damned display resolution bug for 1080p monitors), the "Intel Display Driver" has had a yellow exclamation mark over it in Device Manager. I tried reinstalling it with the following steps:
- Right click it in device manager
- Uninstall
- Action -> Add legacy hardware
- Install Intel WiDi Audio Device
After that it still has a exclamation mark. In its properties it has "This device cannot start (code 10) : STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE"
I'm guessing this is causing the random BSoD's (with error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE) that I've been having whenever I wake my computer up from hibernate/sleep. Already disabled "enable quick start" in power settings by the way.
From my knowledge this driver is mainly for connecting to TVs w/ HDMI or something? Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Is this driver not supposed to work with Windows 8.1 or something?
