Yes, that's consistent with what we've found out in this thread: DHT11 Temperature Sensor Issue
Pins 2 and 3 are directly connected to Quark's GPIO and you can get around 50 us for digitalRead() using these (from Arduino sketches also), maybe that would suit your needs?
